The Scripture Cannot be Broken John 10:35

Jer_15:16  Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

Rev_19:13  And he (Jesus) was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Many will say the Bible is just a book written by men, of subjective interpretation or just fairy tales. Or some will accept some portions of scripture, but reject others. It is important to understand that all scripture is given:

-“by inspiration of God,” 2 Tim. 3:16;

-Written by men of God moved by the Holy Ghost,1 Pet. 1:21;

-Studied daily by those in Thessalonica and sought to learn whether the preaching they heard was true; Acts 17:2

-Called the “scripture of truth” by the Angel Michael to the Prophet Daniel; Dan. 10:21;

-The Lord tells Moses to “write for a memorial;” Exo. 17:14;

-The Priests were instructed to “write the curses in a book” Num. 5:23;

-Moses instructs the law be written upon stones very plainly.” Deut 27:8

-The Lord instructs the prophet Isaiah to “write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever: Isa. 30:8
-The Lord instructs His people to “ Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: Isa 34:16

-The Lord instructs the Prophet Jeremiah to: ” Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.” Jer. 30:2

-The Lord instructs the Prophet Habakkuk to “write the vision” Hab. 2:2

Further – Scripture is confirmed by the Lord Jesus:

Mar_12:10  And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

Joh_5:46  For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

Luk_4:21  And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Joh_7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

-Joh_10:35  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

Joh_13:18  I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Joh_17:12  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Joh_19:28  After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

Further, prophecies written over the course of thousands of years are fulfilled and noted in the scriptures:

Ezr_1:1  Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

Lam_2:17  The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.

Mat_1:22  Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

Mat_2:15  And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Mat_5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Mat_8:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Mat_13:14  And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

Mat_27:9  Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

Mat_27:35  And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

Mar_1:15  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mar_14:49  I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

Mar_15:28  And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

Luk_4:21  And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Luk_21:22  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Luk_24:44  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Joh_13:18  I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Joh_15:25  But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Joh_19:36  For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

Lastly, Jesus prays:

Joh_17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Let us not to take lightly or diminish the Word from Heaven.  They are our instructions in righteousness; the words of eternal life; an historical source; our source of spiritual knowledge; a discerner of thoughts; a sure word of prophecy; revealer of the gospel; written for our learning; the oracles of God; the way, the truth and the life; the light; comfort in our affliction; a lamp to our feet; pure and true from the beginning; gospel of your salvation; and many other things.

Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Be aware of what people share and speak into your life. Many have created a Jesus of their own imagining, and not the Jesus of scripture. Just because someone makes a spiritual proclamation, does not make their statement biblical truth.

God is love. Amen. But do we also love the God of judgment? The one who is coming back in flaming fire to take vengeance on those who do not obey the gospel? Do we only love the God we see on the Cross who took away our sins? Do we not also love the Lord from Heaven seen in Revelation who is coming back in judgment – not only for the world but also for the church?

If we are sharing the truth of Christ, are we only conveying the comforting messages of the gospel – or are we sharing all of it? The peace of God that passes all understanding is only given to those who have placed their faith in Christ and have repented of their sins.

Come as you are; no matter what? Where can I find those words? Are they of man or God?

There was a reason why Jesus and multitudes of Christians were martyred. There is a reason why Jesus told us that the world would hate us. Speak against sin, idolatry and the love of the world and watch what happens.

I realize this isn’t a popular, comfortable message to those who prefer sweet, sugary, syrupy words void of the entire counsel of God, but we are called to share the goodness and the severity of God.

Please don’t romanticize Jesus Christ – it not only dishonors Him, it maligns His character.

1Jn_4:1  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Pro 14:15  The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Jer 29:8  For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.  9  For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

Mat 24:4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Rom 16:17  Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

1Jn 4:5  They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. :6  We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
