Peace & Safety

As I listened to the State of the Union address last night, and considered the recitation of successes by the current administration, I considered that none of these speeches acknowledged the Almighty.  If America were so healed and prosperous, why do we continue to see worldwide devastations? Poverty? War? Abortion? All manner of sin?

Could it be we are judging by man’s standards and not God’s? Do we gauge success by a decreased unemployment roll or new business starts? These things may be good, yes, but is God in the mix? Are good things happening to America because of her godliness?

Or is this just a farce? Is the wool being pulled over citizens’ eyes to believe we have peace and safety?

There is no peace for the wicked and that is scripture. Peace will never come as long as we are slaughtering the unborn and funding them through institutions such as Planned Parenthood. Can we expect the Hand of God to be upon America while we are establishing legal precedent for matters that God deems an abomination? Or, to those who know their God, do we see that the Hand of God is against us?

The meat of the Word of God declares many things — and one in particular is that God will send a delusion upon a rebellious people. That delusion will cause one to feel at ease and in peace, but the delusion is sent because there was an utter disregard and hatred for the Word of Truth.

It is a fearful thing to turn away from the Creator of the Universe – from the God who watches us from Heaven and who holds all things by the Word of His Power. Are we so prideful and resentful of His intended Will that think no evil will come upon us?

God said — Consider your ways.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
